Guard Miguel Ley poured in 25 points with six assists and center Loren Liming notched his third double-double of the season as the Central College men’s basketball team opened Iowa Conference play with an 84-61 victory over Simpson College last night. Liming had 20 points, 13 rebounds and four assists while guard Justin Madsen added 14 and guard Mark Holan had 10 as the Dutch improved to 5-1 overall. Central burst to a 20-6 lead in the first five minutes and led 42-26 at halftime. The Dutch travel to Waverly Saturday for another league women’s-men’s doubleheader. Saturday’s women’s game starts at 2 p.m. and the men’s game tips at 4 p.m.
