Christmas Tree Fire Safety

As Marion County residents are decorating their homes for the holidays, they should make sure their Christmas trees are kept moist to prevent them from catching fire around electric lights. That’s according to Knoxville Fire Department Chief Mike Roberts. He says residents should keep plenty of water in the tree stands so the needles have water, whereas completely dry trees can catch fire and burn very quickly if there’s an electrical accident.
