The Pella wrestling team went 1-3 with a partial team at the Webster City dual tournament Saturday. Pella beat Belmond-Klemme 43-24 but fell to Webster City 54-28, Ankeny 57-19 and Clear Lake 59-29. Pella sent several of their wrestlers to a JV tournament so they only had a partial varsity team at Webster City and forfitted six weights. Brent Smith at 135, Lane Whitaker at 160, AJ Arendahl at 189 and Houston Naakpeboren at heavyweight all went 4-0 on the day and Zack Stouw went 3-1. Coach Joe Burch said the guys that were there wrestled very well and he was very pleased with their results, especially given the fact they lost 36 points in each dual due to the open weights. Pella wrestles again Thursday at Oskaloosa then hosts the Pella tournament Saturday. In related news, the dual with Knoxville that was postponed due to snow Thursday has been re scheduled for February 9th at Pella.
