The driver of an eastbound vehicle on Highway 163 was fortunate to walk away uninjured Sunday evening, after her car left the roadway and rolled onto its top. The accident happened at approximately 5:00 p.m. near the intersection of Highway 163 and 180th Avenue, west of Pella. The vehicle came to a rest in a grassy area, several yards away from the roadway, and just narrowly missed striking a utility pole.

No additional vehicles were involved in the accident, and there were no other passengers in the vehicle. The driver was treated at the scene and released. Pella Ambulance, Pella Rural Fire Department, the Marion County Sheriff’s Office and Iowa State Patrol all responded to the accident.
