David Huffman, Staff Assistant to the Director at the Des Moines VA, says the transfer of inpatients from the Knoxville VA Hospital to the Des Moines VA Hospital went very well. They decided to transport patients to the new hospital over a four day period for logistical reasons and for staff reasons. Huffman says the feedback he’s had from the patients have been positive, and attributes the smooth transition to the advanced notice the patients had for the move.
