The Knoxville Hospital and Clinics will be taking over the management of the Emergency Department Physicians in February. Hospital CEO Ann Helwig says they have hired Dr. Richard Bratkiewicz to serve as the Chief of Staff for the Emergency Department, and they will be hiring more doctors in the future to staff the department. Acute Care, Inc. had been taking care of the staffing of the ER, but Helwig believes this arrangement will improve organization and enhance their ability to deliver better care to patients in the area.
