The Knoxville City Council last night approved the submittal of a State Revolving Fund, or SRF, loan application for the amount of $3,936,742.47 to finance the West Area Relief Sewer Project at the direction of the Iowa DNR. The council also amended the City Code pertaining to Minors Where Beer is Sold to allow persons under the age of 21 inside Peacetree Brewery because they are a native brewery, and considered a tourist attraction. The council also considered the first reading of an ordinance amending provisions pertaining to Major Contributing Industry Surcharge that sets up a fine schedule for Industries that exceed discharge limits established by the DNR, among other issues.
