The Pella Christian boys open their season tonight with a conference game at South Tama. The Eagles have some question marks this year after graduating all five starters from last years Class 2A State runner up team including their top two scorers Cliff Warner and Eli Groenendyk. South Tama also lost some key players to graduation and they have a new head coach. Pella Christian coach Larry Hessing says not knowing a lot about South Tama, their main focus tonight is on their own play and improving as they go. He says the past few years the Eagles have been a very fast paced type of team but with several new players in the mix this year, time will tell if that style will figure in this year. He says returning players like Kyle Nikkel, Chase Carlson and Jamie and Joe Blom do bring experience to the floor and they’ll need their leadership to bring along some of the new faces. Tonight’s doubleheader starts with the girls game at 6:15pm followed by the boys around 7:45pm from the Roundhouse in Tama. You can hear live coverage on 92.1 FM KRLS with Jamie Brockman and Wynne Veenstra starting with the pre game at 6pm. It will also be streamed live on kniakrls.com CLICK HERE TO LISTEN LIVE
