Pella Christian dominated the boys game from start to finish as they stayed undefeated with a 69-25 win at Knoxville. The Eagles took control early leading 18-9 after one quarter and eventually built up a 50-18 lead after three quarters on their way to the win. The Eagles out rebounded Knoxville 32-14 and played tough defense all night long. Eagles coach Larry Hessing said he was very pleased with their defensive play. Even more impressive was the fact Pella Christian connected on 68 percent of their shots for the game. Knoxville coach Brad McWilliams said there’s not much you can do when a team shoots that well, but he says Knoxville got frustrated and lost their focus.
Pella Christian had five players in double figures led by Alex Branderhorst with 15, Chase Carlson had 13, Kyle Nikkel added 12, and Curtis Rozenboon and Sam Tvedt each added 10 as the Eagles improved to 5-0 overall and 3-0 in the LHC. Knoxville was led by Luke Moore with nine points as the Panthers fell to 1-5 overall and in the LHC. Knoxvile is off tonight and will travel to Albia Thursday night.
