The members of the Pella girls basketball team began their Christmas breaks yesterday, and the Lady Dutch will have a few days away from the hardwood before returning to prepare for the 2010 portion of the schedule. Pella Head Coach Jerod Garland says its important for the team to have time to spend with their families.
“The big thing is we want to give them time to be with family. That’s the most important thing here,” says Garland. “We’re going to give them Monday off and then we’ll come back on Tuesday. Usually those first couple of practices are a little bit rough after having four or five days off, so we’ll come in and do a lot of shooting the first few days and a lot of individual work and then we’ll start to ramp it up and get ready for Knoxville.”
Pella will host their cross-county rivals on January 5th.
