The Pella girls basketball team started last night’s game at Grinnell on an 11-0 run and never let the Tigers back in, as the Lady Dutch coasted to a 52-36 victory in Little Hawkeye Conference play. Pella Head Coach Jerod Garland said the quick start was key to the team’s success, along with a strong night from the backcourt for the Lady Dutch. Guard Mackenzie Vander Molen led the team with 11 points and also snared 4 rebounds, while Lindsay Bentzinger added 10 points. Hali Steenhoek led the team on the glass with 8 rebounds. With the win, the Pella girls are now the winners of five straight going into Friday’s showdown at Pella Christian.
