The City of Pella is collecting natural Christmas trees this week during residents’ regular solid waste pick-up dates. All trees must be unwrapped and free of plastic, wire, nails and stands to allow them to be passed through a wood chipper. Trees not meeting those requirements will not be picked up.

Wreaths and roping with wire will also be collected as normal household waste if placed within a closed tote. Residents can contact the Pella Public Works Department with any questions at 628-1601.

The Christmas tree pick-ups in Pella will run though Thursday. Additional pick-up days will be offered on January 6th, 13th and 20th. Trees must be placed at the curb by 7:00 a.m. on the date of residents normally scheduled collection day.
