Massive snowstorms like the one Marion County experienced last week lead to easy decisions for school administrators when it comes to canceling school, but there are many factors that come into play whenever winter weather occurs. Pella Schools Superintendent Mark Wittmer says reports from road maintenance crews, blowing snow and wind chill are all other factors that are taken into consideration. Wittmer says Pella also works closely with administrators at Pella Christian and Knoxville Schools to see what their plans are as well in the event of winter weather.
