Severe Winter Weather on its Way

A severe winter storm is expected to impact Holiday travel throughout the state this week starting Tuesday evening into Wednesday. Marion County Emergency Management Coordinator Jeff Anderson says Marion County should be prepared for a combination of rain, freezing rain, and snow throughout the rest of the week. The Marion County Engineer’s Office is monitoring the weather and roadway situation, and is preparing for a long duration event and getting equipment ready for both a heavy snow event and a freezing rain event. During severe winter weather, KNIA/KRLS stays in contact with the National Weather Service, Weather Eye Weather Center, and area officials to bring you the most up to date information first, fast, and accurately.
