Employees of Vermeer Corporation received a bit of good news from CEO Mary Andringa Monday morning. Andringa and her executive team announced that following the company’s previously scheduled seasonal break, production hours will increase to a full 40-hour work week. Production support workers will also see an increase in hours to 36-40 hours per week when employees return on January 4th.
Hours for production workers had been as low 20 hours per week during the past year. Andringa cautioned, however, that unpredictable economic conditions could still result in future adjustments. Andringa attributed the need to increase production in the immediate future to an increase in sales and orders for the Vermeer Line.
