Central College wrestler Tommy Van Renterghem has been named the Iowa Conference male athlete of the week. The 165 pound sophomore from Oskaloosa went 4-0 at the Iowa Conference Duals at Mount Vernon and helped the Dutch snap a five-year drought in duals against conference foes.

Central’s 26-15 win over Loras College snapped the 38-match losing skid, which went back to December 10th of 2004. It was also the first dual victory for the Dutch over the Duhawks since 1995. The Dutch followed-up the win over Loras with a 33-10 rout of Buena Vista University. This season, Van Renterghem is 17-6, and will return to the mats on Tuesday, February 2nd when Central hosts Knox College.
