The largest crowd in recent history attend a controversial Melcher-Dallas City Council meeting Monday night. According to Melcher-Dallas Mayor Amos Spoon, the controversy is stemmed from questions raised by newly elected council members about ordinances and the appointment of various positions. These positions include members of the Library Board, Planning and Zoning Board and Board of Variance, as well as the only paid position of City Clerk. The appointments were tabled until the next city council meeting on February 8th in order to provide more time for reflection and offer the community an opportunity to file interest in the positions. Those interested in any of the above positions are asked to drop off their information at city hall with attention to the City Council.
