A pair of significant snowstorms in December kept the street maintenance department busy in the city of Pella, but the city’s budget for snow removal should hold up fine for the remainder of winter. That’s according to Pella City Administrator Mike Nardini, who says the city has spent between 25 and 50 percent of what they typically spend on snow removal, depending on which individual line item is analyzed.

Nardini says it’s always hard to forecast how the snow removal budget is holding up at this time of the year, but says if snowfall for the remainder of winter is similar to what Pella normally experiences, then the snow removal budget should hold up.
