Clean up of a fire in downtown Knoxville on Saturday night has begun. Jerry Saylor, owner of the building has begun restoration. An owner of an adjacent building has also started the clean up process as of Monday afternoon, by bringing in a professional cleaning crew. Saylor says he hopes the renovations will be completed in the next few weeks. Because there have been multiple fires in the building within the past year and there are concerns regarding the safety of residents within the building and adjacent buildings, City Manager Dick Schrad says the city will be looking into what future actions they might take regarding the building. The property is for sale.
