Ice Storm Effects on Marion County

The recent ice storm is now over, but its effects in Marion County are not. According to MidAmerican energy, 201 homes in the county are still without power. Pella Cooperative Electric also reports homes without power in the Pella area. The majority of power in Monroe has been restored after over a thousand homes suffered an outage this week. Marion County Emergency Management says residents without electricity can call either the Marion County Sheriff’s Office @ 641-828-2220 or the Pella Police Department @ 641-628-4921 to provide basic information that will be used to determine the need for shelters.
