14 teams from around the state wrestled in the Iowa State Youth Duals yesterday at Knoxville High School. After all the wrestling was over with, The Golden Eagles Gold squad from Council Bluffs took home the team championship. Knoxville had two teams competing. The Black team went one-and-three on the day winning over Johnston and falling to the Council Bluffs Cobras and Southeast Polk. The Knoxville Gold squad went oh-and-two in pool wrestling falling to the Golden Eagles Gold team and to Dallas Center-Grimes. Knoxville Varsity Wrestling Coach Eric Whitcome said the said went very well. He adds many of the teams said they would like to come back next year.
