The Knoxville boys held a one-point lead just a minute into the fourth quarter against Newton. The Cardinals proceeded to go on an eight-to-one run and take command as the Panthers fell last night 45-38. The game was played at a very slow pace with Newton leading at the half 15-10. Knoxville made a run in the third quarter to tie it at 25 heading into the final period but Newton took command early on in the fourth. Coach Brad McWilliams said that stretch where Newton made that eight/one run was the difference. Mike Jacks led the way for Knoxville with 17 points…Jamie VanderVeer chipped in ten. Knoxville is now 4-10 on the season and 3-7 in the conference with a trip to Oskaloosa next…this Friday.
