Knoxville’s plan was to jump on Oskaloosa from the opening tip and leave no doubt who was the best team in the gym. After a nine point lead after the first quarter the Panthers bumped it up to 16 at the half and as high as 35 before setting for a 67-43 win over the Indians in girls basketball last night. Knoxville did have a problem in getting to Osky’s post player, but Coach Jim Utiermarkt said going to man-to-man defense and man press solved that problem. Sam Abens scored the nets for 22 points on 6/11 from three point range and Bethany Just had a season high 17 points, 14 in the first half. Knoxville is now 15-0 on the season and 11-0 in the Little Hawkeye Conference. The Panthers will host Albia tonight at 6:15.
