January is National Eye Care Month and Dr. Jason Maasdam from Eye Health Solutions in Knoxville says that it is very important to get your eyes checked once a year. He states that through regular eye checkups things like glaucoma can be detected and treated. Dr. Maasdam says it is also very beneficial for the eye to wear sunglasses when outside to protect against UV light and eat a diet rich in fruit and vegetables.
