A familiar name is returning to the Knoxville square. Taso’s Steakhouse opens Monday February 1st, in the old Schmaltz Pharmacy building at 2nd and Robinson. In related restaurant news, Deng’s Garden, a new Chinese restaurant will open in the old Taso’s building on the northeast corner of the square, hopefully this month.

The Knoxville First United Methodist Church is looking for volunteers to help with upcoming children and youth events. They need help with the Good Friday Day Camp on April 2nd as well as to start planning the 2010 VBS. For more information, contact the church.

Following a physical win over Oskaloosa on Tuesday, the Pella Christian girls basketball team will try and make it two in-a-row when they travel to Newton tonight. Eagles’ Head Coach Kevin Van Maanen says with just two weeks remaining in the regular season, it will be important for his team to start building momentum going in to the postseason. You can hear coverage of tonight’s Pella Christian girls basketball game live from Newton on 92.1 fm KRLS with Eric Gotschall and Wynne Veenstra providing the call. Pre-game coverage begins at 6:00 p.m. with the tip-off slated for 6:15 p.m.
