The Pella Christian boys will step outside the Little Hawkeye Conference tonight as they play host to Centerville in a JV/Varsity boys only doubleheader. The Eagles are coming off a six point loss at Norwalk Friday night and Coach Larry Hessing says even though it was a loss, he saw alot of good things from his team in that game as they stayed right with a very tough Norwalk team, but also spotted some things they still need to work on such as boxing out on rebounds and avoiding mental lapses on defense.
Hessing says Centerville will present some challenges to his team tonight. They are very athletic and physical and he says his team will have to be ready for that, but he also says its a good test to prepare them for the second round of LHC games starting Friday. The Eagles are 7-2 on the season and 5-2 in LHC play. You can hear the varsity boys game with Eric Gotschall and Wynne Venstra streamed live on kniakrls.com tonight starting around 7:30pm. There will also be a delayed broadcast of the game starting around 10pm tonight on 92.1 FM KRLS. The Pella Christian girls do not play tonight. They are off until Friday when they host South Tama to begin the second round of Little Hawkeye Conference games.
