As the Pella Christian Girls prepare for tomorrow’s return to conference play, they’ll have a little extra experience from the holiday break to draw upon. The Lady Eagles traveled to Urbandale late last week to scrimmage against a handful of 3A and 4A teams. Pella Christian Head Coach Kevin Van Maanen says the scrimmage adds a little something extra to the regular practice format.

“It’s always good to have that, because sometimes you don’t get that intensity in practices when you’re going against your own team,” said Van Maanen. “Going against other teams, you face different players and offenses and it makes you more focused. It was also good for conditioning as well.”

Van Maanen adds that the team is continuing to work on being more focused and aggressive as they prepare for Grinnell, which comes to Pella tomorrow night.
