After falling to Knoxville last Tuesday, then having a full week to practice and re group the Pella girls took care of business beating Norwalk 56-35 last night. Pella led the entire game but made a big run in the second quarter outscoring the Warriors 15-5 to take a 28-14 halftime lead and never looked back. Pella played strong defense all night forcing 25 Norwalk turnovers but even more impressive was their rebounding as they out rebounded Norwalk 28-13. Alot of those were offensive rebounds which led to points and coach Jared Garland says that was an area he stressed alot over the past week and the girls responded. Hali Steenhoek was a big part of that as she recorded a double double with 10 points and 10 rebounds. Leading Pella in scoring was Mackenzie Vandermolen with 13 points as eleven different players scored in thr game for Pella. The Lady Dutch improved to 8-2 overall and 6-1 in the LHC.
