Pella Girls Look to Continue Momentum at Home Tonight vs Newton

The Pella girls begins their second round of game in the Little Hawkeye Conference tonight as they host Newton. Pella is fresh off a big win over Norwalk Tuesday night. In that game Pelal really stepped up their rebounding effort, especially on the offensive end Coach Jarod Garland says that needs to continue as they make their way through the second half of conference games. Garland says Newton runs a different style offense than what they’re used to seeing so Pella will have to make some defensive adjustments. He says Newton runs a five out type of offense which means they really don’t have a true post player. Pella is a team that has four really good post players so Garland says hopefully they can take advantage of that on the offensive end, he also notes those girls will have to come out and guard away from the basket a little more also, something they don’t do alot, so they’ve worked on that in practice the last couple days. Pella beat Newton 47-26 earlier this season at Newton but Garland is quick to point out that things don’t always come as easy the second time around. Pella is 7-2 on the season and 6-1 in the Little Hawkeye Conference. You can hear tonight’s game live with Eric Gotschall and Randy Sikkema on 92.1 FM KRLS and starting with the pregame at 6pm with tip off at 6:15pm.
