Pella native Kelsey Schuring scored a team-high 18 points, but there were few other bright spots for the Central women’s basketball team, as the Dutch were defeated at home by Luther College Saturday afternoon 81-64. Central committed 29 turnovers – 21 in the first half – and shot just 37% from the floor, as the Norse were able to spread their lead down the stretch in the second half.

Forward Haley Brillhart was held scoreless in the first half, but finished with six points, to go along with a game-high 9 rebounds and 3 blocks. The Central women are now 2-13 on the season and 1-5 in the Iowa Conference going into Wednesday’s game in Dubuque at Loras College.
