The Pella Rollscreen Foundation recently distributed a semi-annual round of grants to various organizations in recognition of volunteerism. $5,300 was granted to 37 organizations in recognition of 53 people volunteering at least 50 hours in the past year. Mary Van Zante, with the Pella Rollscreen Foundation says the grants are awarded in December and June, with those who volunteer 50 hours or more allowed to select the organization that will receive a $100 grant in their name.
Van Zante adds that the grants are awarded throughout states that house Pella Corporation facilities, but the majority of the grants do stay in Marion County. Local examples of organizations that received grants of $300 in the latest round of awards included A Call to Serve (ACTS) Ministries, Fields to our Future, Marion County Habitat for Humanity and the With Love Toy Ministry, among others.
