Sub-zero temperatures were to blame for a water main break in Pella that left many residents without water for nearly 10 hours. The water main broke Sunday evening at approximately 9:00 p.m., affecting customers in the northern portion of Pella. The outage was on Main Street from Brentwood Dr. to the northern limits of the city. Pella Water Department workers braved the bitter cold in the early morning hours to have service restored by 7:00 a.m. Monday morning.
