Six area wrestlers have qualified for the state meet next week. Pella advanced two out of the Class 3A District in Knoxville yesterday as Brent Smith won the 140 pound championship and A-J Arrendell qualified as a runner-up. Knoxville was unable to qualify any wrestlers into the state meet as the Panthers season officially came to an end. In class 2A, P-C-M’s Dalton Kingery will go as a district champion at 112 pounds and Jake Tool will also qualify as a district champion in the 285 pounds weight class. In class 1A Pleasantville’s Chris Ramirez at 171 and Phil Lumley at 285 pounds both qualified for state as runners up.
