Early in the second quarter of Tuesday night’s Knoxville and Norwalk girls’ basketball game, Sam Abens became the all-time leading scorer in the five-on-five era at Knoxville in girl basketball. Abens broke Kaylee Modlin’s record which had stood for nearly a decade. Coach Jim Utiermarkt said it may not have met as much at the time to Abens in a loss, however he ads it is quite an accomplishment. Abens and the Panthers will try to get back on track tomorrow night against Pella in a game that is virtually for the Little Hawkeye Conference championship. You can hear the play-by-play on AM 1320 KNIA or 92-point-one KRLS, both pre games start at six.
