A U.S. soldier and Central College alum is heading up an effort to collect school supplies for children in Afghanistan, where he is stationed. Kyle Dykstra, a 2006 Central graduate, is collecting supplies such as backpacks, pencils, notebooks, crayons, scissors and other items and will have them sent to a school in southern Afghanistan. Those who wish to contribute can drop off new school supplies in the Maytag Student Center in the “Show Them Some Love” box, but need to do so by Sunday, February 28th.
