The Central College wrestling team has matched its highest season-wins total in the past nine years, and the Dutch grapplers aren’t done yet. With a pair of wins over Knox (Illinois) and Augustana (Illinois) on Tuesday night, Central is now 9-8 on the season.

Central’s victory over Knox was an impressive 52-0 beatdown – their first shutout since blanking Rhode Island College in 2000 – while the Dutch also secured a 25-14 win over the Vikings of Augustana.

With two duals remaining in the season, the Central wrestlers have a chance to post their first winning season since a 12-8 campaign in 2001-01. It won’t be easy, though, Central travels to Dubuque Friday for a dual with a Spartans squad that is ranked 23rd in the NCAA Division III.
