A candidate for the Republican nomination to challenge Democratic incumbent Leonard Boswell for the 3rd Congressional District seat was in Pella yesterday. Dave Funk, a retired pilot from Runnells was in Pella to meet with supporters. Funk told KNIA/KRLS News that he will return to Pella next week for a tour of Vermeer Manufacturing and to meet with Vermeer employees and management to learn about the company. He also hopes to hear of any concerns they might have regarding legislation affecting their industry coming out of Washington.
