Dubuque’s High-Scoring Trio is Too Much for Central Women

The Central College women’s basketball team showed their grit yet again last night in Dubuque, but it wouldn’t be enough to slow the Spartans’ scoring onslaught, as Central fell 82-61.

Down by ten at halftime, the Dutch scrapped their way back to within four points, only to have Dubuque rattle off twelve straight points after that. The Spartans had three players score a combined 60 points, which was too much offense for the Dutch to compete with.

Central had just one player, Katie McKim, score in double figures, as she led the Dutch with eleven points. Kelsey Schuring led all players with eight rebounds.

Central is now 2-19 overall and 1-11 in the Iowa Conference, with a road trip to Luther College up next on Saturday afternoon.
