The Pella Fire Department responded to ten fewer calls in 2009 than in 2008. That’s according to data recently made available by the Pella Fire Department that showed a decrease for the second straight year in the total number of calls for the department. Of the 137 calls received in 2009, 54 calls were within city limits, 40 were responded to by the Pella Rural Fire Department, and 29 calls were for automotive accidents.
