Band students from several area schools will be among the performers in a day full of jazz music at Central College on Saturday. The 31st annual “Jazzmania” at Central will feature jazz bands from the Knoxville, North Mahaska, Oskaloosa and Moravia High Schools, among others. The Pella Middle School band will also perform during the day competition, which will last from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Day passes to the competition are $3 and are available at the door.

In the evening, a concert will be held in Douwstra Auditorium featuring Central’s Jazz Band and special guest artist Paul Meyers. Meyers is a guitarist from the New York jazz scene, and has collaborated with many well-known jazz musicians. Tickets to the evening concert, which starts at 7:30 p.m., are available at the Information Booth of the Maytag Student Center on the Central College campus, or by calling 628-9000.
