The One to Count On...

Marion County Public Safety to Narrowband Radio Signals

Posted: Tuesday, February 23rd, 2010 at 6:26 am

Beginning today, agencies in Marion County will be making the switch from wideband to narrowband radio signals. With the exception of Pella, whose public safety agencies will make the switch on Thursday, all area fire and EMS agency signals will move to narrowband today, and all law enforcement agencies will switch tomorrow. Emergency Management Coordinator Jeff Anderson says the only significant change for those who own scanners will be a small possible decrease in volume level, and no programming change will need to be made.
