Saturday is the final day to register for a creative contest to benefit children in Haiti. Titus Hopkins, a kindergartner from Pella concocted the idea with help from his mother to have participants build Lego® creations that would be judged for prizes.
Hopkins was inspired to design the fundraiser when he learned at church that just one quarter could provide a meal for children in Haiti. The cost to enter the contest is $5 for children in grades kindergarten through fifth grade, and $10 for sixth through twelfth grade students. Proceeds from the entry fees would benefit Many Hands for Haiti.
Rules and a registration form are available at Marion County Bank of the Third Reformed Church in Pella, and available online at www.marioncountybank.com . The registration form and entry fee needs to be submitted at Marion County Bank by Saturday. Participants will bring their Lego® creations to Marion County Bank next Saturday, February 27th.
