Tuesday night Knoxville’s Sam Abens wrote her name not only into Knoxville’s record book but also in the state record book. Abens nailed seven three point shots to tie her own school record and tie the state tournament record with three other players. Not only that but Abens finished her career with the second most three point makes in Iowa history with 268. Coach Jim Utiermarkt was not surprised that Abens had a good shooting game. Abens also will finish as the school’s all time girls leading scorer in five-on-five play…and has established the most three point makes in school history.
