An update of a story earlier this week on an accident on highway T-17 near the intersection of T-17 and Highway 5. The Iowa State Patrol reports that Lena Vandenberg of Leighton was unable to keep control of her 2001 Chevy Malibu due to a medical condition. She crossed the center line and continued across the northbound lane, onto the shoulder and hit a straight truck driven by James Casey, who had pulled onto the shoulder of the road and stopped to try and avoid the collision. Vandenberg was transported to the Knoxville Hospital and Clinics with non-life threatening injuries, Casey was uninjured.
