Approximately 9,000 Iowa homeowners will be able to save money on new, energy efficient appliances with a Federally-funded state rebate program that begins Monday. Robin Van Berkum, co-owner of Van Berkum Appliance in Pella says she thinks the rebate program will help stimulate sales during a traditionally slow time of the year.

At True Value in Knoxville, Brad Crossett says the rebates will greatly reduce the prices of eligible energy-efficient appliances, but has concerns about how beneficial the stimulus will be. The Energy Efficiency Appliance Rebate program begins at 8:00 a.m. Monday morning. Rebate reservations can be made by calling 877-267-7495 or by visiting www.IowaApplianceRebate.com.
