The Marion County Board of Supervisors met in special session Tuesday morning. At the meeting the board had a preliminary discussion about whether or not they will join the Iowa Workforce Development’s Regional Workforce Development Board. The board is made up of supervisors across several counties that help provide jobs for those who are unemployed. Board members questioned the financial liability of joining the board, and whether or not it is necessary because either way Marion County will still get all Iowa Workforce Development services. The board will look into what other counties in the region plan to do and will be able to have questions answered by a representative from Iowa Workforce Development at their regular meeting next Monday at 9:30am in the Marion County Courthouse.
