Central College got the leadership they needed from veteran senior pitcher Doug Eisenman to hold off a late St. Mary’s rally and win 7-6 yesterday in Florida.

Coach Adam Stevens went to his senior with two outs in the eighth and runners in scoring position. Eisenman didn’t disappoint getting the last out of the inning and earning his second save of the season with a three-up, three-down ninth inning to defeat the Seahawks . Sophomore Joel Pulliam started the game and pitched five innings and allowed three runs to receive his first win of the season. The Dutch’s defense struggled committing four errors, but their offense made up for the miscues with 11 hits. Josh Stanton had 2 RBI with a double and a triple. Fellow sophomore teammate Ben Chestnut led the team going 3-4 at the plate. Central improved to 8-2 and will play two seven-inning games this afternoon against Wisconsin.-Superior before wrapping up their Spring trip to Vero Beach, Florida with a nine inning game against St. Scholastica Saturday.
