A member of the Central College softball team has been named the Iowa Conference female athlete of the week. Angela Davis was tabbed for the league honor after an impressive week on both sides of the ball for the Dutch. In eight games last week, the sophomore second baseman batted .444 with 10 RBIs and 7 runs scored. Davis’s 12 total hits were highlighted by three triples and a home run.

In the field, she had 14 put-outs, 12 assists, and started four double plays. The Central softball team went 7-1 in the week that Davis was recognized for, which included outings at the National Training Center Spring Games in Clermont, Florida, and at the Washington-St. Louis Marriot West Invitational in St. Louis, Missouri.

This week’s recognition marks the third time in her career that Angela Davis has received league honors. She was named Iowa Conference female athlete of the week and softball player of the week in March of last year and was also the conference softball player of the week again in April.
