Daylight Saving Time took effect early this morning. It’s time to “spring forward” which means we’ll be setting our clocks forward an hour to give us an extra hour of daylight in the evening.

Daylight Saving Time was moved up an entire month in 2007 when then-President George W. Bush enacted the Energy Policy Act of 2005, which aimed to use the extra hour of daylight in the evening as a way to reduce the usage of artificial lighting.

It now begins on the second Sunday of March at 2:00 a.m. and ends on the first Sunday of November; also at 2:00 a.m.
