Those interested in running for an elected official position in Marion County can file their intent beginning next week. The positions of Treasurer, Recorder, County Attorney along with one Board of Supervisors position will be up for election this November. The primary election will take place in June, but those interested in running for county offices must file their papers between March 8th and March 31st in the Marion County Auditor’s office, located on the 2nd floor of the courthouse.

To file, individuals must turn in a nomination petition with a minimum of 100 signatures and an affidavit of candidacy that is signed and notarized. The forms are available at the Auditors office or on the Iowa Secretary of State’s website at www.sos.state.ia.us.
